  • The Level A courses must be an approved sequence.
  • The Statistics M.S. requires 33 hours, (IGSP hours plus 9 hours) plus comprehensive exams.
  • Courses taken for the doctoral degree may fulfill requirements for the M.S. degree in Statistics.
  • Courses taken for the minor or the master’s degree in Statistics may fulfill requirements for the doctoral program. Contact the home department.
  • Some of the Level B hours may be obtained from certain Level A and C courses upon approval by the IGSP Executive Committee and the student’s home department.
  • The student’s home department must verify the fulfillment of non-Statistics degree requirements.

Statistics course recommendations for specific concentration areas (approved by IGSP Executive Committee):

 Ph.D. in I/O Psychology / Minor in Statistics

Examination requirements for Statistics minor: A 2 ½ hour examination to be taken within one term of the Specials Examination. The exam will be written and will consist of two major questions. A passing score is 2.00 (on a scale of 4.00).

Application requirements: The student should declare an intention to seek the statistics minor when the plan of study for the Specials Exam is submitted. Later submission requires resubmission of a new plan of study. A student may drop the Statistics minor but not after taking just the I/O portion of the Specials Exam.
