Admission

Applicants to the College of Business PhD program must satisfy the admission requirements of  the PhD program concentration and the Graduate School at the University of Tennessee. Applicants are required to fill out both the Grad School application and the PhD application that can be downloaded below. The following checklist provides a step-by-step process to apply to the PhD program.

Application Checklist 

1.Complete the Graduate School Application. International students must complete the application by March 1 of the enrolling year. 

2.Submit 2 official transcripts to the Graduate School from each institution attended, including all undergraduate and graduate work. These must be submitted by the institution utilizing the transcript release form in the downloadable materials. 

3.Have ETS submit an official TOEFL score to the Graduate School for international students. 

4.Pay $35 fee to the Graduate School (This fee cannot be waived.).

5.Review PhD application instructions. Then Complete the College of Business Ph.D. application and submit to the College of Business. 

6.Submit 4 references to the College of Business. 

7.Have ETS submit an official GMAT score to the College of Business. 

8.Complete the optional Application for Graduate Assistantship.
