Michelle began her career with the University of Tennessee working in the Bursar’s Office in 1991 and has worked in different customer and student service related positions during that time. She has been with College of Business Administration since 2003, when the Human Resource Management program transferred from the College of Human Ecology and joined the Department of Management.
Michelle was promoted to Administrative Specialist in the Department of Management in October 2008. She assists the department head, Dr. Terry Leap, and the assistant department head, John Hoffman. Michelle also supports 20+ department faculty members, and acts as office supervisor for staff and work study students. Additionally, Michelle is responsible for processing travel authorizations and reimbursements; she aids with budgeting, processes invoices, schedules meetings and events, and is in charge of all HR hiring documentation for the department.
Michelle, her husband, Mark, and their two children, Evan and Elizabeth, are avid sports fans and participants. Both Michelle and her husband have coached various teams in baseball, softball, basketball and cheerleading. The family enjoys high school sports, Tennessee Smokies baseball games and UT football and basketball games.

Successfully completed the University of Tennessee’s SOAR (Supervisors: The Organization, Achievements and Responsibilities) program in 1998.
Served as Employee Relations Committee Representative from 1998-2000.
