Emily Edwards

Emily received a BA in Economics from Washington and Lee University in June 2007.  Prior to entering the MBA program, she worked as a Financial Counselor at 21st Mortgage and interned for two summers with Duncan-Williams, Inc., a Memphis-based investment bank.  While at Duncan-Williams, she served as an institutional sales intern and later as the trading assistant, working under the firm’s primary municipal underwriter.  She attends Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church and is a flautist with the East Tennessee Concert Band.  Additionally, she is a Graduate Assistant in the MBA Program Office and enjoys fishing, playing tennis, and being an avid UT athletics supporter.

Jonathan Epperson

Jonathan completed his undergraduate degree in business administration and finance at Houston Baptist University where he played for the NCAA Division I men's soccer team. He has internship experience with Merrill Lynch's global private client group, gaining knowledge about wealth management and investment management practice. After his internship, he worked for Merrill Lynch, providing analytical support for high net worth clients. He is currently pursuing his MBA in finance and logistics. He enjoys board sports, culinary arts, and travel.

Thomas Newman

Tom received his undergraduate degree in Film Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has most recently worked managing the recruitment process for a major manufacturing company in the Knoxville area and also worked for several years at a student lender. Tom is currently working towards his MBA with concentrations in Logistics and Finance at the University of Tennessee, and will graduate in December 2009. He is interested in pursuing a career in investment management.

Michael Schachleiter

Michael is from Cincinnati, Ohio.  He attended Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC where he earned a BS in Business Administration, graduating Magna Cum Laude.  While attending Lees-McRae Michael was a member of the basketball program for all four years.  Upon graduation Michael returned to Cincinnati where he worked as a financial analyst for Fifth Third Bancorp.  Michael is currently a first year student the University of Tennessee MBA program where he is concentrating in Finance.
