President of Terminus Real Estate and Sterchi Development LLC Prior to his move back home to Knoxville, TN in the spring of 2001, Leigh A. Burch, III was a well known real estate professional in the Atlanta, GA area for over 20 years. During this time he worked with a number of companies:
Vantage Property Associates—Commercial broker.
Trillium Management—Vice President of Leasing and Property Management including 34 commercial and residential properties as well as over 200 commercial tenants.
GLG Tower Inc.—Vice President of Commercial Properties. This Swedish real estate group developed the posh, 53 story GLG Grand Tower in Midtown. Mr. Burch leased over 50% of the space within ten months while achieving the highest effective rents in the Atlanta office market despite the real estate down-cycle.
Jamison Research—Advised over 40 of the largest pension funds, commercial banks, life insurance companies, real estate developers, and brokerage firms within the United States. His consulting included market analysis and feasibility, determination of highest and best use, financing packages, leasing, and marketing.
In September 1995, Mr. Burch was appointed as President of the Real Estate Resource Center in Atlanta. He has been quoted extensively in the Wall Street Journal, The Atlanta Business Chronicle, Georgia Trend, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, The Knoxville News Sentinel, National Real Estate Investor, and many others. Mr. Burch has served as guest speaker on numerous real estate panels and participated in a host of other real estate functions throughout the Southeast. He has also taught a variety of real estate and business courses at Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, University of Tennessee, Brenau College, and Dekalb College.
Today, he focuses on real estate development, leasing, sales, and property management at his company, Terminus Real Estate, Inc. Some of Mr. Burch’s clients include SBC Communications, Teleglobe, Metromedia Fiber, Cingular, Tandy, Air Touch, KFC, GNC, Bell South Mobility, Wolff Technologies, Pirozki’s, Atlanta Bread co., Kirwan, Goger, Chesin & Parks Inc., Suway, Pizza Hug, AT&T, Level 3, MCI Worldcom, and others.
Mr. Burch’s loft developments include: the 100-unit Sterchi Lofts in Knoxville, the 30,000 sq. ft. Brady Avenue office lofts in Atlanta, 12 lofts at 85 Peachtree St. in Atlanta, and several other projects in the Atlanta area. He is currently developing a mixed use historical rehab on Gay St. in Knoxville where he also owns 30 acres of Hwy. 53 footage in Hall County, the largest commercial property in Knoxville’s Old City, the 40,000 sq. ft. Walnut Office Building, and other retail properties.
Leigh was born in Knoxville and received his education at the University of Tennessee: a B.S. as well as his Master’s degree in finance and economics. When he is not working, Mr. Burch is with his wife, two sons, and daughter in Knoxville.
